Time to BOOST your veterans services.
It's Boost Grant season! Previously known as Surplus Grants, these grants are intended to boost the programs that Voluntary Service Representatives hold at their facilities. All Representatives have a chance to apply for up to $1,000 to expand activities at their assigned facility.
This is the time to try new activities and test new program ideas! Is there an outing that veterans have been asking about? Do you want to expand an already existing program to serve more veterans?
Here are a few things to keep in mind.
Only VAVS Representatives are eligible to submit this application. Deputies are encouraged to work along with Reps on the grant project.
Funds must be used to serve the veterans at your assigned facility.
Boost Grant projects require Elk involvement, but when hands-on activity is not possible, modifications may be made to meet COVID restrictions.
Funds must be used to start a new activity or to expand existing activities. Grants are not intended to fund activities that are already held or replace funds already designated for this purpose.
Don't forget to include a copy of your January 2022 Voluntary Service bank account statement with your application. Without this statement, your application will be incomplete.
Please note that it is only possible to fund a select number of Boost Grants. Approval is based on the quality of the application and is dependent on the funds available.
Sincerely,
Hannah Graber, Programs Coordinator
