Honor the One Who Goes Above and Beyond

Updated: 10 hours ago

Nominate a Veterans Volunteer of the Year

Every Elks Lodge has that volunteer.

The one who shows up early and stays late. The one who quietly ensures veterans are never forgotten. The one whose dedication doesn’t seek recognition—but absolutely deserves it.

The ENVSC Veterans Volunteer of the Year Award exists for this very reason: to recognize those extraordinary individuals whose unwavering service to our nation’s veterans reflects the very heart of Elkdom.

Why This Recognition Matters

Veterans’ programs are a cornerstone of our mission, and the success of those programs depends on dedicated volunteers at the local lodge level. By submitting a nomination, your lodge has the opportunity to:

  • Honor meaningful service to veterans in your community

  • Highlight the importance of veterans’ programs within our Order

  • Celebrate leadership, compassion, and commitment

  • Inspire continued excellence across lodges statewide and beyond

This award is more than a certificate or title—it is a public affirmation that service to veterans matters, and that those who serve them selflessly will not go unnoticed.

Who Should You Nominate?

We encourage you to nominate a volunteer who has made a measurable and lasting impact through:

  • Veterans assistance or outreach programs

  • VA hospital or home involvement

  • Community-based veterans initiatives

  • Advocacy, fundraising, or direct support efforts

If their work has improved lives, strengthened programs, or elevated your lodge’s veterans’ mission—they belong in this nomination.

Submission Deadline: January 31, 2026

Completed nomination applications must be submitted to your State Veterans Chair no later than January 31, 2026, for review and forwarding to the ENVSC.

Don’t wait until the last minute—start the conversation now, gather the details, and ensure your lodge’s outstanding service to veterans is properly represented.

Questions or Eligibility Clarifications?

Your State Veterans Chair is your first and best resource for guidance on eligibility, requirements, and submission procedures.

Let’s Ensure Service Is Seen

Our veterans gave everything in service to our nation.

Those who serve them deserve our recognition in return.

Take a moment. Think of the volunteer who stands out.

Then take action—submit a nomination and Be the Difference.

Fraternally,

Martin “Marty” Harbolt
